Louie named NHRA general counsel

08/07/2002

Linda Louie

Linda Louie has been promoted to general counsel of the National Hot Rod Association. Cary Menard, NHRA vice president of business and legal affairs, made the announcement Aug. 1.

"Over the last three years, Linda has made a significant contribution to our organization by working closely with the management team on contracts and other legal matters," said Menard. "Most recently, one of Linda's key accomplishments was her integral role in drafting and finalizing the landmark agreement with Coca-Cola/POWERade."

Since joining NHRA in 1999 as associate corporate counsel, Louie has dealt with a variety of legal issues in many areas of NHRA business, including intellectual property, litigation, and implementation of a contract-management database system.

Louie previously served as general counsel at Creative Computers in Torrance, Calif., where she managed the legal department and legal affairs of the Nasdaq-listed company. Before that, she practiced business litigation, most recently at the Los Angeles office of Arnold & Porter.

Louie is a graduate of the University of Southern California Law School and the University of California, Los Angeles.
