Hey, where'd my stuff go?
A new-design primer
With change, inevitably comes confusion. Early feedback from the new NHRA.com home page has been very positive, though the biggest gripes so far have been from people you can't easily find their old favorite sections. Rest assured that everything that was part of the old page has a home on the new page.
Here's a quick breakdown:
Multimedia: Moved to Quick Links; navigation to the various features within the section (Photo Gallery, Action Photos, Sound Gallery) are located on the linked page, in the black sidebar at left.
Driver Info: All information moved to the Drivers tabs in the top left of the page
Racing Info: All links moved to the bottom of the home page
Join the NHRA: Now linked from top of page
Inside the NHRA: Moved to Quick links; navigation to the various features within the section are located on the linked page, in the black sidebar at left.
POWERade series: All information and links moved to POWERade series box under top stories
Lucas Oil Series: All information and links moved to POWERade series box under top stories
Member Tracks listing: Moved to tabs
Points: Moved into individual series boxes under top stories
Imports tab: Moved to NHRA Summit Sport Compact Series box.
Screen resoution: The site is optimized for 800x600 resolution, as was the previous version (with the blue background, it's more obvious now to users with higher resolution settings; previously that area was white). Although most savvy web surfers run 1024x768, 800x600 is the default setting for most computers. If we optimized the site for 1024x768, users with 800x600 settings would have to scroll to the right to see the entire page.
Advertising: The amount of advertising on the home page is the same as in the old version. The addition of certain series logos, such as the Pro Bonus events, rewards those companies who support our sport and make better racing for you, the fan.
This information will be updated as questions arise.
