Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Bucky Austin has been on a roll since March when he won an out-of-division race at Southwestern International Raceway in Tucson, Ariz. Since then, the Fife, Wash., resident has been to the final round of every division race he has attended. He now has three wins in four final round appearances, putting him in the points lead. Abbotsford,
B.C., resident Rod Clough is second in the TAFC point standings after making two final round appearances. He was runner-up to Bucky Austin in Boise, and beat him at the race at his home track in Mission.
Gates at Woodburn Dragstrip open at 8 a.m. each day and time trials begin at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday. TAD and TAFC are scheduled to qualify at 2 p.m. Friday.
