4th Annual

April 3-6
The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
The first NHRA national event here in 2000 proved that the Las Vegas venue and all that goes with one of the more exciting cities in the world could support two national events a year. Last year, Larry Dixon, bannering an Elvis likeness on his car and later himself in the winner's circle, swept the event in Top Fuel. He qualified No. 1 and ran low e.t. and top speed en route to his third win of the year in four final rounds. Gary Densham defeated Tommy Johnson Jr. in Funny Car, and Ron Krisher finally broke through to win Pro Stock after qualifying No. 1 for the fourth straight event.
