O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals
Heading to Houston
Houston, pre-race: Fully prepared for the NHRA Mac Tools Gatornationals to be their one and only event in 2004, Karen Stoffer and the Jonco Motorsports team went there with the intention of making their presence known. Consistency was the goal and it was consistency that put Karen into the top half of the field for the eliminations and into the semis on Sunday. Leaving the Gators in the fourth position convinced the team to continue on to Houston. Solidifying that decision was additional support provided when Cycle-Gard by Geico Direct committed to additional selected events on the NHRA 2004 tour. The hunt is still on for associate marketing partners but Stoffer and Jonco Motorsports will be aboard for the entire season.
Heading to Houston, the team plan is to capitalize on the momentum and maintain their consistency. Continuing with the Cope power plant Jonco crew chief Gary Stoffer said, "Tuning the bike to the #4 position gave us a great start. Houston will be challenging but with the added bonus of Cope joining Vance & Hines we will have awesome power and it's up to the team to find the right setup."
The Jonco Motorsports team is excited and prepared for the next event. "Our team did a great job at Gainesville and now that we have a full racing agenda ahead of us, I will be maintaining my focus on consistent runs at Houston," said Karen.
