Smith had a nitrous backfire just past the 330-foot markers, that was the end of his bid.
King moves to the top of the field.

Personett's turbo powered camaro is cool - no hood scoop. He left the line cleanly, but shook so hard the car ended up near, and then over the centerline. Stott danced down the 1320, he managed to stay in the groove the whole way.

Laird hooked up with his vette, Burgess had to pedal right after leaving the starting line.

Castellana launched over toward the centerline and had to lift. Knowles shook and lifted right off the line, he had a good view of Castellana coming over toward his lane.

No Prior Run Landis's run was DQ'ed last night, so he's not in the field.
Landis lost control in his own oil after the motor let go, he slid hard and fast into the right side wall. He tried to regain control as his Stratus continued downtrack, but slid again into the left side wall. Landis came to a stop after one final smack into the right side wall just past the finish line.
In the other lane Lang was long gone when all the excitement started, thankfully he was well out of the way when Landis came over into the left lane. Lang moved up six spots.
Word comes from the top end Landis is out of the car and OK, the car is heavily damaged and the safety safari is already cleaning up the oil in both lanes. 1:58 p.m.
2:25 p.m. Due to the amount of oil and other stuff to clean up, (There is a large group out with grease sweep and brooms out now) the rest of the Pro Mod field has been returned to the pit area. The rest of this round has been canceled, so the field is set, Pro Mod will be back later today for round one of eliminations.
