Connolly made a smooth, straight pass, but that time probably won't get the job done. Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.782/204.26, Now #3 Right Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.849/200.47, Now #5 Brogdon is running Gagnazzi power this year - might have a chance. Again, no obvious problems, but the numbers may not get either one in the field, especially the twelve-car provisional field. The air conditions are not quite as good as they were earlier, but the warmer track may hold more aggressive tuneups - and the drivers seemed to think this would be the better session of the day. We'll see, the first session was pretty wild. Humphrey's car made a hard right on the launch and he barely avoided making contact with the wall, getting very sideways in the process. Buehring slowed a bit from his earlier run and his weekend is over. Enders' car started to do a dance about 100 feet out and she shut it down. Swindoll was 1.000 for the first 60 feet, but could not come close to his earlier time. KJ made a long burnout and took his own long look at the track in that area, then backed up. KJ went right through that part of the track without a wiggle. Two good runs, no improvement for either driver, and Pro Stock qualifying finishes with Jason Line #1 and Tom Hammonds on the bump spot at 6.611, the quickest field ever.

Conditions have been steadily getting worse - they were excellent earlier today, but we had almost an hour of cleanup in the first round of the fuel cars. Johnson and Krisher have each won 9 times against the other in prior events. Krisher holds a 6-5 edge in round one matchups. AJ's best finish here was a runner-up in '07. This one was all Krisher, away first with a great light and more than a car length ahead at the line, with a career-best speed.
