Results for Qualifying Round 3JOLIET, Ill. - CHICAGO - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 12th annual United Association Route 66 NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run: Right Lane: Dave River Runs 7.030/197.36, Now #13 No Prior Run12:08 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 53 percent, barometer 29.28 inches, adjusted altitude 2,398 feet, track temperature 91 degrees.I predict River will make the field on this run - of course, there are only twelve "qualified" cars in the sixteen-car field right now. The Pro Stock Motorcycles just finished and nobody ran well, but as we saw last night, that doesn't mean the cars will also be off the pace, and most Pro Stock drivers expected this session to be the best of the weekend.
River came up a little short of his best run yesterday.
Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.666/207.50, Now #9 Best prior run: 6.656/208.04, Was #9 Right Lane: Kevin Lawrence Runs 6.783/203.19, Now #13 No Prior RunLine is already in the field, but had a very bad run in the second session yesterday, so he gets to run early in this session.Line made a good run, strung together a bunch of sixes (the Devil made me say that).

Northrop is on the bump spot at 6.694.
Left Lane: Ryan Ondrejko Runs 6.658/205.69, Now #12 No Prior RunNice run by Ondrejko to move into the field. Coughlin could not quite match his numbers from yesterday on a good-looking run. That should end the bumping for this session.Left Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.650/207.82, Now #10 Best prior run: 6.657/207.72, Was #11 Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.661/207.82, Now #8 Best prior run: 6.631/208.30, Was #8Humphreys improved, moved up one spot. Anderson made a great run yesterday and Edwards was three hundredths quicker! In Pro Stock, that's an eternity. So far, Coughlin was low of the round at 6.620. Great runs in both lanes, the two quickest of the session, but once again Edwards was hundredths quicker than Anderson.
Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.761, 660ft-4.248/165.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.530.

Results for Final RoundJOLIET, Ill. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of final, round 4 eliminations in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 12th annual United Association Route 66 NHRA Nationals: W/L Driver R-Time E-Time Speed (W) Jeg Coughlin (Jegs.com Cobalt) 0.016 6.663 207.30 (L) Mike Edwards (A.R.T./Young Life GXP) -0.021(R) 6.709 204.485:47 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 58 percent, barometer 29.17 inches, adjusted altitude 2,941 feet, track temperature 92 degrees.Coughlin is 18 - 8 against Edwards in prior events, but only 2 - 1 against Edwards in prior final rounds.
Edwards has shown a two to three hundredths performance advantage in all three rounds today, so he had to be the favorite in this final round, as long as he stayed within a couple hundredths of Coughlin on the tree.
Edwards went red and Coughlin pulls off a magic act, running exactly the same ET he ran in the semifinals. Unbelievable!
