Brown and Dixon have each won 3 times against the other in prior events and Brown is 1 - 0 against Dixon in prior final rounds. This is Dixon's third final round this year and this is Brown's fifth final round this year. Brown double step the throttle on the starting line and turned on the red light giving Dixon his 46th National event win and his third this year. This is the fifth time Dixon has rolled out of Englishtown with the Wally. Dixon with the win moves into third place.

Funny Car Final Round

Force Hood and Pedregon raced each other in the final round at Joliet last weekend. Pedregon got the win then, just as he got the win in Las Vegas in October 2007, the only other time he and Force Hood have raced each other in the final round. There was more at stake in this race than just the event title. The winner of this race would leave with the Funny Car points lead. A holeshot win for Pedregon and both drivers had trouble with their cars in this race. Pedregon got out of the gate first and extended his lead at 330 feet. His car started to move around and get a little loose, giving Force Hood a chance to close the gap. But then Force Hood's car started to move around a bit before it started heavily trailing smoke as it crossed the finish line. With this win, Pedregon took over the lead in the Funny Car points race.

Pro Stock Final Round

This is a rematch of last week's Pro Stock final round. Coughlin won that race after Edwards rolled through the beams. These two met in the final round in April, with Edwards winning that race. Overall, Coughlin holds the advantage over Edwards in final rounds, with three wins and one loss to Edwards. Coughlin had a slight advantage at the starting line and held on for the holeshot win. Edwards was closing the gap but just ran out of room. Jeg Coughlin's incremental margins: 60ft(0.016), 330 ft(0.012), 660ft(0.006), 1,000ft(0.005). MOV: 0.0024 seconds (approximately 9 inches).

Because of time constraints, race officials declared Finke the winner and did not make him come back to stage the car.

Top Alcohol Funny Car Final Round

The last time he beat Manzo in a final round was at the Winternationals in 2006, when Manzo fouled. Since then, Manzo has won 19 consecutive final rounds at national events. Manzo had 11 wins and five losses against Payne before this round, and they are 2-2 against each other in final rounds. Payne got out of the gate first but Manzo unloaded his quickest run of the weekend to get the win.
