Right Lane: Richard Bourke Runs 5.805/239.14, Now #1
2:20 p.m. - Bourke's car had a slow launch and never really got up to speed.
Left Lane: Diana Harker No Time, Now #3
Right Lane: Gene Arrigoni Runs 5.517/253.23, Now #1
Harker brought the RPMs up and the car lurched through the beams, o she did not get a run.
Arrigoni had his career best speed and ET.
Left Lane: Rich McPhillips Runs 5.606/247.75, Now #2
Right Lane: Tom Pickett Runs 5.667/249.49, Now #3
McPhillips' car has flat grey body panels instead of its normal gloss black finish. Pickett had his season best ET and speed.
Left Lane: Bruce Horner Runs 5.726/236.01, Now #4
Right Lane: Darvin Martinets Runs 5.952/237.30, Now #6 Horner has been at every race here in which Top Alcohol Dragster was contested except for 1999. He was runner up in 1983 and 1984.
Left Lane: Ken Winward Runs 5.645/251.06, Now #3
Right Lane: Dan Mercier Runs 5.806/260.41, Now #7
This is Winward' 27th race here at Englishtown. He's been here every year since 1983.
Left Lane: Darren Nicholson Runs 5.483/258.27, Now #2
Right Lane: Mike Kosky Runs 5.346/264.08, Now #1
Kosky took over the top spot in the order for now with a nice run down the groove.
Nicholson's run also looked good and he's in the number two spot for now.
Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 5.368/265.01, Now #2
Right Lane: Courtney Force Runs 5.531/251.25, Now #5
Courtney Force lost a cylinder early on. Brittany took her car down the groove.
Left Lane: Robin Samsel Runs 5.329/268.17, Now #1
Right Lane: Arthur Gallant Runs 5.969/179.95, Now #14
Samsel had a career best ET to move into the top spot for now.
Left Lane: John Finke Runs 5.418/261.27, Now #4

Right Lane: Diana Harker Runs 5.674/237.59, Now #11
No Prior Run
11:15 a.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 59 percent, barometer 29.82 inches, adjusted altitude 2,205 feet. Harker did not get a time in the first session yesterday. She had the car staged but when she brought the RPMS up, the car lurched through the beams. This time, she got the car staged and had a clean run down the track. She's in the field and in the number 11 spot for now. Arthur Gallant is on the bump spot at 5.969.
Left Lane: Bill Evans Runs 5.443/268.44, Now #5
Best prior run: 9.714/108.47, Was #17
Right Lane: Bruce Horner Runs 6.747/144.61, Now #13
Best prior run: 5.726/236.01, Was #12 Evans was bumped out of the field by Harker just before he made this pass. Horner was the number two qualifier here in 1986 and that was his best start in this race. Evans not only got himself back into the field, bumping Arthur Gallant in the process, but he put himself in the number four spot for now. Horner had a slow trip down the track. There did not appear to be anything wrong but his car never developed any speed. Darvin Martinets is on the bump spot at 5.952.

Right Lane: Ken Winward Runs 7.482/120.60, Now #11
Best prior run: 5.645/251.06, Was #10 Gallant needed to go quicker than 5.952 seconds to get back into the field. Winward launched and got out to about 330 feet when he backed off the throttle. Gallant took his car down the groove to get into the number three spot in the order for now. Dan Mercier is on the bump spot at 5.806.
Left Lane: Darvin Martinets Runs 5.887/230.53, Now #17
Best prior run: 5.952/237.30, Was #17
Right Lane: Rich McPhillips Runs 5.465/262.13, Now #7
Best prior run: 5.606/247.75, Was #10 Martinets was bumped out of the field by Gallant and needed to go quicker than 5.806 seconds to get back in. McPhillips has made the field here every year since 1990. Martinet's took his car down the groove but was not quick enough to make the field. It looks like the field is set now, with only some jockeying for position left to come. McPhillips moved up three spots in the order with a nice pass down the track.

Right Lane: Darren Nicholson Runs 5.468/260.51, Now #8
Best prior run: 5.483/258.27, Was #8 Mercier has qualified for this race in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008. He was the number 12 qualifier in 2004 and number eight the other three times. Nicholson has never qualified for this race before. Mercier launched and shook the tires and clicked it off at 330 feet. He'll be in the field but it will be his lowest qualifying position. Nicholson had a nice run that was quicker than his first session ET, but not quick enough to change his spot in the order.

Right Lane: John Finke Runs 5.392/272.28, Now #5
Best prior run: 5.418/261.27, Was #5 Bourke was the number one qualifier here in 2003. Finke was number one in 2007 and 2008.
Both drivers were quicker today than in the first session yesterday. Bourke moved up four spots, Finke stayed were he was.
Left Lane: Tom Pickett Runs 8.868/102.40, Now #13
Best prior run: 5.667/249.49, Was #13
Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 5.324/265.85, Now #1
Best prior run: 5.368/265.01, Was #4 Pickett qualified number 13 here last year. This is Force's first time at this track.
Pickett launched and spun the tires. The car veered hard toward the center line at about 60 feet. He backed off the throttle and when he got back on it, the car moved toward the center line. He ran along the center line for a few hundred feet but had to back off the throttle again to keep from crossing. Force had a smooth pass right down the groove to take over the top spot in the order.

Right Lane: Robin Samsel Runs 5.349/269.19, Now #2
Best prior run: 5.329/268.17, Was #2 Neither of these drivers have raced Top Alcohol Dragster here at Englishtown before this weekend. Both had nice runs this time. For Samsel, it was not quicker than yesterday and not quick enough to move up out of the number two spot in the order. Force moved up four spots and into the number six spot in th qualifying order.

Kosky was late at the tree and trailed in this race for the first 60 feet. After that, he pulled ahead of Bourke and hung on to take the win.

7:19 PM - Evans did his burnout but his car shut down before he could stage. That gave Kosky a single run into the final round. Kosky's car got loose and he almost crossed the center line. Kosky's car left oil on the track, so we'll be in another delay while the Safety Safari cleans up the track.

We're back racing after a 25 minute delay to clean up after Kosky's car. Force launched and her car dropped cylinders right from start. Finke took his car down the groove for the win.
Kosky has already told race officials that he will not be able to come back for the final round, so race officials decided before this pair ran that the winner of this race would be declared the race winner. So, Finke not only won this round, he won the Top Alcohol Dragster division Wally.

Kosky's car broke in round three so he was not able to answer the call. Because of time constraints, race officials declared Finke the winner and did not make him come back to stage the car.
