Results for Qualifying Round 1
NORWALK, Ohio - NORWALK - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Third annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Kenny Delco Runs 6.902/200.65, Now #1
Right Lane: Mark Hogan Runs 16.458/44.04, Now #2
4:03 p.m. Delco's last race was Maple Grove, 2001 and he last qualified for a race at Englishtown, in 1992. He's in a 2009 Cobalt formerly owned by Tony Rizzo, shares ownership with Bob Perry.

Hogan shook hard and lifted. Delco made a full pass, with no apparent problems and he's #1, for a minute or so.

Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.854/203.06, Now #2
Right Lane: Ryan Ondrejko Runs 6.802/203.28, Now #1
Ondrejko spun the tires a bit, got doiwn the track pretty well. Benza also had some tire spin, trailed all the way because Ondrejko had a competitive 0.037 reaction time.
Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 12.721/67.64, Now #5
Right Lane: Dave Northrop Runs 6.789/203.77, Now #1
Enders' car shook and she lifted. Northrop also had some tire shake, but drove out of it.
Left Lane: David Beckley Runs 8.706/127.20, Now #6
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.899/201.19, Now #4
Beckley shook and gave up on the run. Full pass for Gaines, but the car ran out of steam on the top end.
Left Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.751/204.39, Now #2
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.743/205.22, Now #1
These two had the best launches so far, a 1.014 60-foot time for Humphreys and a 1.001 for Brogdon. They also ran the two best speeds so far, as well as topping the ET list.
Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.843/203.43, Now #6
Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.758/204.45, Now #3
Gray is running the Nitro Fish Ultimate Wear car again. He, too, was 1.00 for the first 60 feet, ended up third for now. Morgan lost a lot of time to Gray in the first 330 feet.
Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.722/205.41, Now #1
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.762/204.01, Now #5
Jones had the best short time so far, a 0.995, but WJ's 1.001 was good enough to propel him to the top of the list with low ET and top speed so far.
Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.714/206.42, Now #1
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.728/205.63, Now #3
Two solid runs, though the 1.017 60-foot time for Krisher and 1.008 for KJ were not field-leaders. Both showed big speed, which usually means lots of power.
Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.760/205.26, Now #8
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.712/205.72, Now #1
AJ went to the head of the class with a pretty run. Stanfield steadily lost ground to Johnson.
Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.680/206.07, Now #1
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.732/205.54, Now #6
The "Home Team" cars came out side-by-side, Line in the car Greg drove last year after "losing the handle" on Line's 2009 car. Line carded the best 60-foot time by far, a 0.986, and he rocketed to the head of the list. Anderson had a middle-of-the-pack 1.008 60-foot time and trailed all the way.

Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.805, 660ft-4.292/164.09 mph, 1,000ft-5.587.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.677/206.83, Now #1
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.797/205.10, Now #14
Edwards had the second-best 60-foot time of the round and went to the top spot with ease (again), once again with a huge speed. Coughlin also posted a sub-one-second 60-foot time, but could not stay with Edwards.

Afgter one session, Edwards once again leads the field, at 6.677, and Rickie Jones is on the (12-car) bump spot at 6.762.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.710/206.23, Now #9

Line was a bit slower off the starting line, but ended up just a thousandth slower than Anderson. KJ also moved up, putting Larry Morgan on the bump spot at 6.718. However, Morgan gets to keep his time tomorrow because the final pair won't bump him out of the 12-car provisional field.
Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.649/206.99, Now #1
Best prior run: 6.712/205.72, Was #10

Great runs in both lanes. AJ took low 60-foot time honors with a 0.973, while Edwards had a much slower 0.994. Johnson maintained the edge all the way down the track, but Edwards posted a monster speed and they bumped Anderson all the way down to third.

Results for Qualifying Round 3
NORWALK, Ohio - NORWALK - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Third annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.652/207.46, Now #2
Best prior run: 6.667/206.73, Was #4
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 14.522/88.31, Now #10
Best prior run: 6.710/206.23, Was #10
12:03 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 52 percent, barometer 28.98 inches, adjusted altitude 3,115 feet, track temperature 114 degrees.

The first four pairs of cars in this session are the K&N Horsepower Challenge competitors. That competition is reported separately, but those runs also count as qualifying runs for the Third annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals.

KJ's car shook violently and started doing a dance as soon as he let the clutch out. Line made a very nice run to move up to the second spot, running top speed of the meet so far.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 14.773/55.57, Now #1
Best prior run: 6.649/206.99, Was #1
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.670/206.92, Now #5
Best prior run: 6.700/206.42, Was #6
AJ just saw Line make a very nice run in the lane he was in. This time it was the left-lane car that "went whacky," shaking and off before going 200 feet. Coughlin made his best run of the weekend to move up a spot in the order.
Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.659/207.40, Now #3
Best prior run: 6.655/207.24, Was #3
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.729/206.26, Now #6
Best prior run: 6.689/206.89, Was #6
This time both cars got solid launches and good runs, but neither improved over their best runs yesterday, and Line's speed is still top speed of the meet.
Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.644/207.34, Now #1
Best prior run: 6.666/207.02, Was #4
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.676/206.61, Now #6
Best prior run: 6.714/206.42, Was #11
This is the last of the K&N Challenge cars. Two more good runs, Anderson taking over the #1 qualifier spot, Krisher moving into the top half of the field.

Left Lane: Kenny Delco Runs 6.850/201.94, Now #13
                                  No Prior Run
Right Lane: Mark Hogan Runs 7.181/176.47, Now #14
                                  No Prior Run
Now the bottom of the field - the first several pairs did not make the provisional field and start all over today, so their previous times won't show up and they will be in the field, possibly only briefly.
Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.827/200.38, Now #14
                                  No Prior Run
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.746/203.95, Now #13
                                  No Prior Run
We now have a bump spot.
Left Lane: Bob Benza Runs 6.779/203.98, Now #15
                                  No Prior Run
Right Lane: Ryan Ondrejko Runs 6.723/203.95, Now #13
                                  No Prior Run

Left Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 13.463/62.73, Now #12

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.696/205.98, Now #8

Best prior run: 6.779/203.98, Was #19
Benza is the last car in line with a chance of bumping Ondrejko from the field - one of the two of them will race tomorrow, not both. Benza would have to make a career-best run to get in.

Benza had a 1.00 60-foot time and came up short. Meanwhile, Gray made his best run of the weekend to move one spot up in the order.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.688/207.15, Now #7
Best prior run: 6.710/206.23, Was #14

The rest of the drivers are racing for pairings tomorrow.

KJ was just moved down a rung by Gray.

KJ made a very nice run, his best of the weekend by a bunch, and he moved into the top half oif the field. Morgan also made his best run of the event, stayed 15th.

Left Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.707/205.01, Now #12
Best prior run: 6.707/205.29, Was #12
Right Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.714/205.22, Now #13
Best prior run: 6.708/205.07, Was #13
Both cars made clean, straight runs. Jones tied his previous best, Humphreys did not, but after his horrible run in the first session today, straight and smooth was a big improvement.
Left Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.724/205.38, Now #11
Best prior run: 6.699/205.91, Was #11
Right Lane: David Beckley Runs 6.725/206.10, Now #10
Best prior run: 6.697/206.23, Was #10
Both drivers were 1.01 for the first 60 feet and neither improved.
Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.676/207.59, Now #6
Best prior run: 6.689/206.89, Was #8
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.698/205.91, Now #9
Best prior run: 6.696/205.98, Was #9
If nothing changes, these two will line up against each other - meanwhile, on the TV screen we see that Rickie Jones' new Dodge ran into the rear of Kurt Johnson's car, damaging the front of Jones' car. The story is as follows - the wind caught the chutes on Roger Brogdon's car as he turned off the track, blowing them into Jones' wheelie bars. That shoved Jones' car into the rear of Johnson's, which, in turn, hit KJ's golf cart. Nobody was injured, but Jones' far will need a lot of front-end bodywork before tomorrow's eliminations.

Meanwhile, back at the racing part of the track, WJ made a nice run to move up a couple spots, while Stanfield almost matched his prior best.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.691/206.86, Now #7
Best prior run: 6.676/206.61, Was #7
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.648/207.11, Now #2
Best prior run: 6.649/206.99, Was #2
Wow! AJ made a pretty run, improving a thousandth over his previous best and joining the small group of 207 mph runners this weekend. Krisher failed to improve.

That's it for Pro Stock qualifying, Anderson leads the pack into tomorrow's eliminations at 6.644 and Ryan Ondrejko is on the bump spot at 6.719. They will face each other tomorrow.

Warren Johnson's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.010), 330 ft(-0.012), 660ft(-0.007), 1,000ft(-0.001). MOV: 0.0035 seconds (approximately 13 inches). Both cars spun the tires hard on the launch. AJ's also shook hard, just like yesterday in the K&N Horsepower Challenge. Krisher managed to drive through the tire spin to get the win with an off-pace ET.
