Right Lane: Art Trautman Runs 6.405/214.62, Now #1
2:46 p.m. Trautman opens the dragster qualifying with a right lane single that produces a fairly weak run. The engine sounded like it was laboring pretty hard all the way down.
Left Lane: Kim Parker Runs 5.581/252.95, Now #1
Right Lane: Bill Edwards Jr. Runs 5.588/253.42, Now #2 Edwards runs his career best ET but still winds up #2 behind Parker. That was a season best run for Parker.
Left Lane: Mark Niver Runs 5.414/257.97, Now #1
Right Lane: Gregg Lawrence Runs 10.402/120.74, Now #5
Niver makes an easy move to the top of the qualifying list early in the process. Lawrence was in trouble from the hit as his engine just sputtered down the track.
Left Lane: Ashley Bart Runs 21.252/29.35, Now #7
Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 5.618/252.66, Now #4
Bart was coasting early in the run but B. Force was mixing cylinders a bit but still manages to move into the #4 spot in the show.
Left Lane: Doug Hegge Runs 5.689/255.82, Now #5
Right Lane: Courtney Force Runs 5.759/252.76, Now #6
Force was really soft at 60ft with a 1.033 but the car seemed to recover some what down track. Hegge was about a nickel quicker and goes in at #5.
Left Lane: Brandon Johnson Runs 10.260/100.03, Now #9
Right Lane: Dale Carlson Runs 5.346/264.03, Now #1
Johnson banged the engine hard right odd the starting line and coasted the length of the track. Carlson takes over the top spot by a bunch over Niver. Nice looking run for Carlson.
Left Lane: Joey Severance Runs 5.398/264.75, Now #2
Right Lane: Chris Demke Runs 5.413/262.28, Now #3
Another great side by side qualifier with Severance getting the slight advantage over Demke. Severance moves in right behind Carlson on the ladder.
Left Lane: Justin Davis Runs 5.936/264.44, Now #11
Right Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 5.416/268.49, Now #5
Cowie might have hurt some parts on the top end but he makes a nice looking run. Davis was off pace right from the start. That ends alcohol qualifying for round one.

Best prior run: 5.413/262.28, Was #4 Demke launched the car and the engine went to high 'C' right at the hit. He clicked it while he still had parts inside the engine and will try again on Saturday.

With fifteen cars no one is going to watch on Sunday. Just going for position. Bart does her job with a stellar pass that just misses knocking off Carlson. Career best for her as well. Lawrence runs much better without moving up in the show.

Johnson blows the tires off the A/fuel and coasts for awhile. Davis has the engine fall silent and Johnson was back on the pedal in a flash with the front wheels about a foot off the ground for about 100ft. Johnson takes the win but loses lane choice to Cowie.

1:13 p.m. Round two for Alky Diggers is up next with three of the eight remaining drivers being female. First we get Severance and B.Force. Force was late compared to Severance and if the blower on Severance's car hadn't lost a burst panel I'm not sure she could have caught him.
