Left Lane: Doug Foley Runs 3.972/305.01, Now #1
Right Lane: Dom Lagana Runs 3.981/303.03, Now #2
Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 79 percent, barometer 29.29 inches, adjusted altitude 2,830 feet, track temperature 87 degrees.Foley making his first appearance on the NHRA tour this year. A couple good looking passes here for drivers. Lagana with a career best pass here at 1000 feet. Doug Foley's incremental times: 60ft-0.886 sec., 330ft-2.219, 660ft-3.174/263.41 mph. Dom Lagana's incremental times: 60ft-0.869 sec., 330ft-2.239, 660ft-3.187/268.33 mph.

Grubnic starts to spin the tires around 200 feet and he clicks it off. Karamesines clicks it off early....

It appeared Haddock clicked it off early, but nice clean pass. Hartley with a nice pass, but then shots from the top end showed he lifted the blower. Joe Hartley's incremental times:

Kalitta started to lose traction just half track and he pedaled it. Millican was straight down the groove into the top half of the show for now.
Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.933/310.84, Now #2
Right Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 3.920/304.05, Now #1
This was a great drag race and these two are side-by-side all the way down the 1000 feet.
They go to the number one and two spots...Langdon with the fastest pass of the round. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.875 sec., 330ft-2.224, 660ft-3.155/272.72 mph. Spencer Massey's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.191, 660ft-3.126/271.73 mph.

Bernstein launched into a wheel stand and when the front end came back to earth it unloaded the rear slicks and he clicked it off. Dixon goes to the number two spot with a real nice pass.
Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.862 sec., 330ft-2.183, 660ft-3.109/271.90 mph.
Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 4.047/223.62, Now #12
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.895/313.07, Now #3
It appeared something let go in Schumacher's car right in the top end with a quick flash of flames. Brown with a real nice looking pass to go to the number three spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.856 sec., 330ft-2.191, 660ft-3.118/271.68 mph.
That wraps up qualifying for today. The NHRA has made call that due to the falling dew point that will be the end of racing for today.

Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 67 percent, barometer 29.29 inches, adjusted altitude 2,858 feet, track temperature 101 degrees.Kalitta is 4 - 1 against Hartley in prior events.
Hartley had a hole or two out right at the hit, but stayed with it. Kalitta started to lose traction around 200 feet and then dropped a bunch of cylinders and that was the end of his weekend.

Massey is 1 - 0 against Haddock in prior events. Haddock broke on the burnout and he can't get it back to the starting line, so he gets out of the car and over the wall. Massey with the single here and he runs low of the round, so far.

Brown is 5 - 4 against Bernstein in prior events. This is the first time in Bernstein's career he has qualified in the No. 16 spot. Brown qualifying No. 1 secured the No. 1 spot in the "Countdown to 1" playoffs. Bernstein was out of the gate first and then started to lose traction around 330 feet and then the car started dropping cylinders. By half track Brown had the lead and then marches on through the 1000 feet with low E.T. of the round and lane choice against Hartley.

Grubnic is 7 - 6 against Lucas in prior events. Lucas is out of the gate first and then starts to spin the tires around 330 feet and drops cylinders. Grubnic is able to chase him down by half track and take his first round win of the year, of course this is only his second race of the year. Grubnic will give up lane choice to Langdon in round two.

Karamesines keeps Dixon honest as he was on a good pass until right before the finish line when it started mixing up cylinders.

McClenathan was losing traction and dropping cylinders on the top end but holds on for the win. With Millican losing, Hartley moves to with in 3 points of Millican and tenth place in the point standings. McClenathan will give up lane choice to Massey in the next round.

This is the first time Schumacher and Lagana have faced each other in eliminations. Lagana and his crew won the Best Appearing Crew award this weekend. Lagana lose traction as soon as he hits the throttle. Still a good weekend for the Lagana team. Schumacher goes in deep and then is losing traction and mixing up cylinders on the top end. He will lose lane choice to Dixon in the next round.

Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 60 percent, barometer 29.32 inches, adjusted altitude 3,172 feet, track temperature 98 degrees. Massey is 2 - 1 against Dixon in prior events and this is the first time they have faced each other in a final round.
Massey with a slight starting line advantage, but is up in smoke right off the starting line and clicks it off. Dixon with his quickest pass today and wins for the first time here at Maple Grove Raceway. This is 48th national event in his career and his fifth national event win this season.
