They leave together with Dixon getting the slight slight advantage. Schumacher has the lead by 150 feet and then blast on through for his eight win here at the "Big Go". Schumacher with the win ties "big Daddy Don Garlits for most Top Fuel wins here at Indy. Dixon starts to lose traction around 300 feet and pedals it, but can't get it to hook up. Schumacher with his 60th National event win, and his fourth this year. Dixon will go into the "Countdown to the Championship" in second place and Schumacher will be in third place.

Hight has been to four finals at Indy final in 2006 and 2008 and this is the first for Ashley. This is his first 2009 final and he is 11-11 in overall wins. Force-Hood is 2-9 in final rounds and 1-6 this year.
Force-Hood gets the RTadvantage off the line and the two cars then stay together until right at the 660 lights, where Hight's engine lights up and burns through the lights. Ashley power on to the finish line for her first big win at Indy.

Arana has been lucky to day when he had bad lights and still strong when he cut good ones. At the green Arana gets a small advantage off the line and parleys that into a huge lead at the finish line.
Phillips gave it a great try, but couldn't show his earlier power this time.

They are tuned by two of the best, Jimmy Rector turning the wrenches for Rowe, Al Billes the tuner for Burgess.
Rowe's bracket-racer finally let him down, falling off the pace on the top end after a close race to half track. Burgess made his best run of the event to turn on the win light.
