Left Lane: Doug Lambeck Runs 8.541/142.97/-0.429, Now #25

Two wheels up cars at the green. Lambeck picks up a little ET, but stays #25. Lamb slows a little.
Left Lane: Paul Pittman Runs 7.129/193.29/-0.491, Now #17

      CC/A Index: 7.55 Prior Best: 6.992/201.10/-0.558, Was #8
Fletcher comes to the line, so it must be the last pair of the session.

No joy for either team, as they both run hard to after mid-track and then slow.

Butner's car was moving towards the center line and I didn't see why Fletcher slowed.

4:33 p.m. Art Hodges is #1 at -0.607 and Nicole Lyons is on the bump spot at -0.040.

Rado's front wheel drive "Scion TC" has some weird looking wheelie bars and a bogus 0.742 sixty foot time. The clocks show 1.049 under his index, but that's bogus.

Payne's car leaves hard with a 0.995 sixty foot time and gets way out of share at the 2-3 shift and slows. He won't make the field.

Sharp slows too.
Left Lane: Dan Fletcher Runs 7.821/159.01/-0.519, Now #7
      B/EA Index: 8.34 Prior Best: 7.761/174.71/-0.579, Was #7

W/L Driver Class Index RT ET Ov/Un

 (W) Alan Ellis A/AP 7.22 0.038 7.064 -0.156

10:56 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 28.91 inches, adjusted altitude 2,238 feet, track temperature 79 degrees.

Payne is in for Bo Butner, who couldn't make the call.

Two high HP classes and sub-seven second performance.

...and we start the round with the traditional Red Light! Ellis clicks it early to save any CIC hit.

 (W) Brian Moscini C/AA 7.96 0.058 7.480 -0.480
 (L) Tyler Hogan C/DA 7.57 0.148 7.124 -0.446
Moscini's Grand Am gets out of the the groove, but still gets the win, as Hogan is late.
 (W) Chris Rado AA/AF 7.92 0.559 NT-Timing Problem
 (L) Ron Weems A/AA 7.15 0.327 7.056 -0.094
Weems is late and Rado has another bogus 0.620 sixty foot time. The -0.960 under the index is not a permanent CIC. [The 6.960 ET @ 146.43MPH are wrong and he will not get a CIC going into round two.]
 (W) Jeff Taylor H/SMA 9.53 0.076 9.154 -0.376
 (L) David Beckley C/A 7.97 -0.018(R) 8.703 0.733

 (W) Scott McClay C/ED 7.87 0.004 7.333 -0.537
 (L) Mike DePalma C/T 8.83 0.095 8.218 -0.612
Scott McClay gets a big advantage off the line and the win. MOV: 0.0166 seconds (approximately 4 feet).

DePalma gets a permanent CIC for his efforts.

 (W) Art Hodges A/PM 7.05 0.197 8.199 1.149
 (L) Scott Hedlund A/SM 8.36 0.127 NT-Took the green light
That was weird. Both cars are way late at the green. Hedlund gets to leave first and the engine goes dead right off the line.

Hodges' Stratus makes an abrupt left turn by the tree and he has to lift to keep the car in the lane.

 (W) Steve Graham C/A 7.97 0.065 7.492 -0.478
 (L) Nicole Lyons A/AA 7.15 -0.156(R) 7.060 -0.090

 (W) Lee Sharp D/AA 8.23 0.114 7.593 -0.637
 (L) Jeff Lane C/SMA 8.76 0.031 8.210 -0.550

 (W) Marty Ladwig AA/AF 7.92 0.023 7.271 -0.649
 (L) Tom Huggins B/A 7.56 -0.037(R) 7.018 -0.542

 (L) Tom Brown F/ED 8.79 0.058 8.259 -0.531
Good wheel racing on the top end. Dan Fletcher's MOV: 0.0184 seconds (approximately 4 feet).

W/L Driver Class Index RT ET Ov/Un

 (W) Alan Ellis A/AP 7.22 0.043 13.606 6.386
 (L) Marty Ladwig AA/AF 7.78 -0.046(R)11.087 3.307
7:26 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 64 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 28.90 inches, adjusted altitude 1,949 feet, track temperature 64 degrees.

It's Saturday night. It's dark. It's late. It's cold. So, it's time to run Competition Eliminator.

Lots of CIC's in the first round earlier today and this may be another set of hits. Marty Ladwig has a 0.14 CIC penalty; Alan Ellis has no CIC penalty.

With two of the higher HP altereds in these conditions, this might get interesting. One a traditional Ford roadster and the other a late model Cobalt.

Ladwig's attempt to do a burnout doesn't bode well for his chances. Looks like he knew he was in trouble and red lights. Ellis is paying attention and takes it easy.

 (W) Dan Fletcher B/EA 8.33 0.047 9.365 1.035
 (L) Chris Rado AA/AF 7.92 -0.134(R) 7.464 -0.456
Second turbo car, second reg light. Dan Fletcher has a 0.01 CIC penalty and takes it easy to save any more.
 (W) Steve Graham C/A 7.97 0.122 7.631 -0.339
 (L) Art Hodges A/PM 7.05 0.228 6.706 -0.344
Two bad lights.

Hodges Stratus uses up a bunch of track and can't catch Graham.

 (W) Justin Lamb G/SMA 9.33 0.048 8.780 -0.550
 (L) Ed Sigmon C/SR 9.09 0.080 8.535 -0.555
Justin Lamb's MOV: 0.0272 seconds (approximately 6 feet). Lots of pedaling in the lights.
 (W) Ross Wilson C/SMA 8.67 0.025 8.701 0.031
 (L) Lee Sharp D/AA 8.10 -0.026(R)11.592 3.492
Ross Wilson has a 0.09 CIC penalty; Lee Sharp has a 0.13 CIC penalty.

Sharp misses the tree and gives the win to Wilson. He is way loose down track and chases the front end of the Sunfire to get to the finish line.

He'll face Lamb tomorrow.

 (W) Scott McClay C/ED 7.84 0.160 7.380 -0.460
 (L) Brian Moscini C/AA 7.96 0.028 7.668 -0.292
Scott McClay has a 0.03 CIC penalty.

Upset win,as Moscini can run the number after a terrible light by McClay.

McClay vs. Ellis in round three.

 (W) Jeff Taylor H/SMA 9.53 0.068 8.967 -0.563
 (L) Aaron Strong F/A 8.54 0.116 8.093 -0.447
Aaron Strong has a 0.08 CIC penalty.

Taylor has the better numbers and takes a bite of the CIC in the two car length win.

He will race Fletcher tomorrow.

 (W) Doug Lambeck D/SMA 8.97 0.027 8.975 0.005
 (L) Jacklyn Gebhardt-Still A/ED 7.17 0.176 10.515 3.345
Last pair.

Jacklyn Gebhardt-Still has a 0.03 CIC penalty and has a terrible light. She then gets way out of shape just pass the tree and slows.
