Ray was loose right off the starting line and made a quick move toward the wall. He keep it off the wall and then was back across the lane and nearing the centerline. He keep it in his lane, but never got it under control and it was fish tailing and then went back across the centerline and tapped the right hand lane wall. King with a good looking pass to go to the number three spot.

5:43 p.m. The track is in full shade now and has cooled to 83 degrees. As the sun sets, it will cool off quickly due to the brisk tail wind we have here. Tuners and crew chiefs will be busy in the staging lanes.Tindle drove over near the wall and stayed near it the whole way. Gullqvist's trip from Sweden will include racing on Sunday, he won this drag race by more than five car lengths.

The winner will face Auxier in the next round. Burgess went for a wild ride, then kissed the wall and went into the other lane. For a brief moment it looked like he was going to smack the left side wall too, but he was able to slow enough and gather things in to avoid the left wall. Gullqvist was long gone, he ran low ET of the round (so far). We're down to clean things up for the next pair. Gullqvist will have lane choice in the semis.
