After a long week of racing, we come down to the last pair of race cars for the weekend.

Dixon has a six to two advantage over McClenathan in final rounds. This is Dixon's tenth final of the year and Cory Mac's seventh. They have met three times already this year, recently at the 2010 Lucas Oil Nations in Brainerd, MN. This is the fifth time in Indy history that the number one and number two qualifiers have met in the final round, with the #1 qualifier winning three times. Most notable was the Garlits vs. Carbone burn down.

What a great race! Dixon had lane choice and made the most of it. He was away first by 0.017 and steadily pulled ahead all the way to the finish line on a great side by side race. McClenathan was right there waiting for any fault by Dixon,but it was not to be.

Stanfield had been matching Edwards times throughout elimination and goes for the tree to ensure a win. It works well, as he gets a nice 0.020 light to Edwards' 0.84. His lead starts to dwindle going down the track, but he gets there first for the big upset win.

Hines was looking for a "sweep" and a record one-race points total (because of bonus points for five rounds instead of four), but he had to settle for second place to the presumptive "Rookie of the Year." Tonglet left first by a hundredth, then extended his lead at every timing increment to win decisively.

In the semifinals, it was Personett's car that trailed a huge cloud of smoke at the end of the run, but it is Baker's car that is too wounded to answer the call for the final round.

Personett spooled it up and made a hard charge to half track, then slowed with "the laundry out," ready to accept his "Wally" and the biggest prize in drag racing, a win at Indy.

Thacker gets a big advantage off the line with a 0.003 RT and then gives it up just before the 330 lights, as Cowie goes rolling on by. Cowie starts to pull steadily ahead until after the 1000 foot mark, where the engine goes away and Thacker gets back by. they had identical speeds at mid-track.
