Bernie Partridge, 30, was named to the position of NHRA Southwest Division Director, effective December 1., replacing present Director Jack Hart, who will assume other duties with NHRA.
Partridge, an engineering technician for the U.S. Government, is the president Dust Devils Auto Club and previously served as strip manager of the Inyokern Drag Strip. He was an NHRA Regional Advisor from 1957 to 1961 and acted as temporary Division Director in 1960. He has served as announcer at the National Championship Drag Races for the past five years and has also announced at Winternationals and Divisional Championship events.
