Mickey Thompson Six-Second Pro Stock Bike Club
The NHRA Mickey Thompson Six-Second Pro Stock Bike Club is a special performance bonus program for NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle competitors who broke the seven-second barrier.
Andrew Hines became the first member of the club March 18, 2005, when he recorded a 6.991 at the Mac Tools NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla. Hines received $10,000 and a commemorative trophy. Pro Stock Motorcycle racers wereeligible for the remaining spots in the club at all NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series events that feature the two-wheel category until Karen Stoffer closed the club with a 6.970 pass Sept. 29 at the Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals in Reading, Pa.
Chip Ellis, the second rider to clock a quarter-mile run of 6.99 seconds or quicker, received $3,000. The third rider, Antron Brown, received $2,000, and the fourth rider. Tom Bradford, earned $1,000. Four checks worth $500 each were distributed to riders five through eight. Each member of the club will also received a special-recognition plaque in honor of the achievement.
