KB Racing to field Wilson Manifolds Pro Stocker in Indy
by John Jodauga, National DRAGSTER
At the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, the KB Racing team of Greg Anderson and Jason Line will field a third Pro Stocker, which will be run by the team's induction specialist, Wilson Manifolds of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Robbie Mansfield, an employee of Wilson Manifold, will be the driver.
Said Line, "Robbie will be breaking in a brand-new RJ Race Cars Pontiac GXP for us and will also be taking advantage of the national event track conditions to test some new induction system concepts. He has competed in IHRA Pro Stock competition in the past with the Dingman Racing team, and he will be making test runs at our eighth-mile facility in Mooresville, N.C., before we head to Indy. This effort is intended to provide us with valuable data needed as we head into the final phase of the NHRA POWERade Countdown. It will also allow Greg and me the ability to compete at the U.S. Nationals in a full-race mode."
Mansfield, 44, serves as the manager of the sheet-metal division of Wilson Manifolds, which has been the exclusive induction-system provider for KB Racing since its inception in 2003. Said Line, "We communicate with Robbie and the rest of the Wilson staff on induction development on almost a daily basis, and this venture at Indy is a further extension of our longtime collaborative efforts."
Line said that the operation of the third car is scheduled for the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals only but that KB Racing is keeping the door open for the possibility of operating an additional entry more frequently.
