Mohegan Sun Racing looks forward to a big season
Gainesville, prerace: Mohegan Sun, the Connecticut-based casino that sponsored rookie Chris Rivas in 2005, is returning to the POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle wars for the full 2006 NHRA tour. Rivas gained some early respect by reaching a final round in The team, which is owned by Jessey Fenton and Brian Bozsum, have committed to a long future with Rivas and the Mohegan Sun Racing program. "We feel very confident in the abilities of Chris as a rider for our team in the upcoming season and well into the future," Bozsum said. Jessey Fenton is a land developer and general contractor from Fenton and Bozsum purchased one of the first turn-key Buell’s built by G-Squared Motorsports and powered by the S&S Pro Stock powerplant and they continue to praise the work that Stan Sawyer from the AHDRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Class will now be handling the tuning duties on the Mohegan Sun Buell. Sawyer comes from a long tenure in motorcycle drag racing and was the crew chief for 2005 AHDRA National Champion Dale Raudenbush. While crewing for Raudenbush, Sawyer broke national records in both the eighth-mile and quarter-mile with a 45-degree American V-Twin motor. Sawyer has over 2,000 recorded passes at race tracks throughout the nation. He has been accredited for much of the R&D that has taken place on many race teams in Pro Stock, Pro-Mod and Top Fuel Motorcycles. Along with Sawyer, Jordan Micellette will be handling many of the other crew duties.
