After two of four qualifying sessions Anderson No. 1
Las Vegas, Friday: With two qualifying sessions remaining, Greg Anderson occupied the No. 1 position at the NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals. Anderson, in the KB Racing LLC/Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac GTO, covered The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway quarter-mile in 6.787 seconds at a speed of 202.82 mph.
"We've definitely done a good job of qualifying all year, there's no question about it" said Anderson, whose been No. 1 at three of the first four events. "Our weak point has been on race day and that's the important day. We picked up four hundredths in the Summit Racing Pontiac GTO that pass, made a lot better run and if we can continue that progress tomorrow and through Sunday, we'll be happy campers. We need a good get-well weekend and I can't think of better place to do it than Las Vegas Motor Speedway."
From 2003 through 2005, Anderson was No. 1 qualify four of the six races (spring and fall, 2003: spring, 2004; and fall, 2005), had low elapsed time of the event three times (spring and fall, 2003 and spring, 2004) and had top speed at three of the events (fall, 2003 and spring and fall, 2004).
