Clay Millican Parts Plus dragster

Bristol, Saturday: Clay Millican's qualifying best of 4.590 seconds at 315.19 mph was fifth quickest and the Nitro Fish/Werner Enterprises/Motel 6 Top Fuel driver faces Larry Dixon Sunday in the opening round of the O'Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.

"We made a nice run Friday night and we are going to have fun Sunday," said Millican, of Drummonds, Tenn., about 520 miles west of here.  "I'm looking forward to racing in front of my home state fans.

"The track was pretty good Saturday afternoon too, but we didn't have enough power.  The car shook like my old Dodge truck runs . . . rough."
