McClenathan's 4.523-second run comes before rain
McClenathan's 4.523-second time at 329.50 mph in the special JEG'S Mail Order dragster was a definite improvement over his opening effort. "That was a good lap," he said of the No. 2 run. "Wes (Cerny, crew chief) and the guys did a great job. I think they are getting onto something good with the tune-up. I couldn't be happier for JEG'S, Prestone and FRAM. That was a nice comeback after our first run was disqualified. "The tires shook and then started smoking and I pedaled the car, but it moved right and hit one of the cones (between the lanes)." JEG'S is headquartered in nearby "Our last run was a solid one. Everything looked good when the guys serviced the motor," McClenathan said. "We hope to go out and do it again Saturday."
