Pedregon reaches semifinal round in Seattle
Seattle, Sunday: Tony Pedregon and his Q Power Race Team raced into the semifinal round at Pacific Raceways Schuck's NHRA Nationals this past weekend in the NHRA Funny Car division. Pedregon lost traction which ultimately ended his day during the third round of competition on Sunday. Pedregon retained fourth place in the 2006 point standings, only one point out of third place.
"This was a good day," an upbeat Pedregon said. "I tell my team that if we are not winning, we at least need to rack up some points, and we did that here in Seattle. We encountered some heat – it was rare that we had a one-lane race track. We felt the left lane was not as good as the right. We probably pulled too much power out of it. I know the Q Team will continue to learn and improve. We helped ourselves in points, and we're now closer to Robert (Hight, third in points). We're aiming to wrap up our Western Swing with a win in Sonoma this weekend."
