Antron Brown Matco Tools dragster

Sonoma, Saturday: U.S. Army pilots Antron Brown and Angelle Sampey will come out of the third and seventh starting positions, respectively.

Despite breaking the magical seven-second barrier on Friday, Brown amazingly dropped to third in the order after the fourth and final qualifying session. As a result, Brown will take on 14th-place qualifier, Matt Guidera, in the first round of eliminations.

"This class is ultra competitive, so it's not surprising to me that as a group we put forth the quickest field in NHRA history," said Brown. "I can tell you that the U.S. Army team will be ready to battle come Sunday."
