A faulty rear end in the Cobalt prevented Connolly from running better than his 6.790-second effort from earlier in the day. "We had a mix-up in the rear-end gears -- they were miss-marked -- and the car didn't go anywhere," Connolly explained. "But we do have our good motor back and it showed in the first session. We will be ready for Saturday's qualifying." Connolly's best run held up when the car slowed to a 4.802 on the last attempt. "We know what the problem was and everything should be fine," added Connolly
