Doug Herbert Doug Herbert Performance/B.R.A.K.E.S. dragster

Las Vegas, prerace: Doug Herbert will be testing for next season when he enters this weekend's ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, but the driver of the Snap-on Tools dragster is still a safe bet to have a successful weekend at the high desert facility.

Herbert, the third quickest driver (4.441-seconds) in NHRA history, has endured an uncharacteristically inconsistent season in which the team had never seemed to establish a solid baseline, despite hours and hours of hard work.

"Everyone has worked very hard to get the Snap-on Tools dragster to compete up to its full potential," said Herbert. "We are going to continue testing with some new parts and pieces and some new people and eventually we'll get this car back to the top of the pack. We won't stop until we’re running at the same level as everyone else again, and who knows, we could surprise some people in Las Vegas this weekend."

Herbert will be a busy man when the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series returns for their second stop to Las Vegas this season. "Dougzilla" will be participating at the Budweiser Shootout autograph session from 5-6:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Hard Rock Café. That will be followed immediately by Herbert's appearance at the "Big Bud Draw Party," also held at the Hard Rock Café. Herbert is a among eight other Top Fuel drivers who have the opportunity to be picked at random to be the eighth and final participant in the exclusive non-points event, held during qualifying on Saturday.

Also joining the Snap-on Tools team in Las Vegas will be Doug Herbert Performance VIP Contest winners, Larry and Shirley Prosper. They will be special VIP guests of Herbert and the crew the entire weekend, receiving first class treatment and an exclusive behind the scenes look at the Snap-on Top Fuel team in action.
