Del Worsham DHL Toyota

Las Vegas, Saturday: Del Worsham lost traction at around 200 feet on his first run, and then spun the tires at the hit of the throttle during the nightcap, leaving him qualified in the No. 12 spot on the strength of his 4.794 from Friday night. He will face Mike Ashley in round one. Coincidentally, it was Ashley who was lined up next to Worsham during the final qualifying run.

"The first lap was a tune-up error, but I'm not really sure if the second one was or not," Worsham said. "Things just took a little longer than normal up there, and that gets the clutch pretty hot, which can cause tire smoke like that. These are temperamental cars, especially when it comes to the clutch department, and it's important to do things pretty much the same way each time. If you get a variance like that, it can mess things up. We'll be okay, I'm sure of that. When we get out there for the first round, I fully expect us to make a strong lap, and we'll correct the clutch thing."
