Grubnic geared up for going fast and greeting guests this weekend in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, prerace: This weekend, native Australian Dave Grubnic, driver of the black and electric blue-flamed, 8,000-horsepower Zantrex-3 Top Fuel dragster, and the rest of the stars of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series will be competing alongside the bright lights and non-stop excitement in the Nevada desert jewel that is Las Vegas in the annual running of the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at one of the world’s premier quarter-mile racing facilities, The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The seemingly constantly smiling Grubnic, a 44-year old resident of Ennis, Mont., is obviously energized about getting to charge his 330-mph mount down the paved drag strip that sits just a few miles outside of the Las Vegas city limits, but he and his Zantrex-3 team are also excited about the special guests that will be attending this weekend’s fast festivities. “We’ve got some special StriVectin-SD guests back with us this weekend,” Grubnic, whose race car was sponsored by StriVectin-SD in the 2006 NHRA campaign, said. “StriVectin-SD still has a very strong presence with our Zantrex-3 team, so it’s wonderful to have them and their guests with us in our hospitality area again. We’re going to have over 75 contest winners from North and “Vegas is always awesome. The facility is superb and the racing is usually some of the best we see all year on the NHRA tour. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to get our Zantrex-3 machine in the winner’s circle Sunday.”
