Melanie Troxel In-n-Out Burger Dodge R/T

Las Vegas, Saturday:  Melanie Troxel will take her Vietnam Veterans MIA/POW dragster into the running of the eighth annual Summitracing.com Nationals at the Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from the No. 9 position after recording a time of 4.558 seconds, 327.51 mph.  Normally she wouldn’t object to whom she would race on Sunday, but it’s the same first round opponent she raced in Phoenix – her Top Fuel teammate, Morgan Lucas. 

“The team thing is turning out to be kind of rough on the two of us having to race each other first round – twice now in five races.  It’s a little frustrating because we were sitting in the No. 16 spot during qualifying and you don’t want to race No. 1, so this is an improvement for us, but we certainly didn’t want to race our Lucas Oil teammate, that’s for sure.  We’ve made progress but we’re definitely not running like we would have liked this weekend.  Tomorrow the weather is going to change and that makes it a whole new ball game.  We’ll just come out and do our best tomorrow.  It was a good team effort.”
