Sampey departs in semifinals
Sampey, who is a three-time NHRA POWERade world champion, had the better elapsed time in her semifinal round race with Andrew Hines (6.983-seconds to 7.005- seconds), but she left the starting line later than Hines (.088-seconds to .027-seconds) and it ultimately cost her. "Obviously, this loss is on me," she offered. "I guess I was afraid of red lighting and held back way too much. I feel like I let the team down and, of course, our soldiers as well.
