Pedregon to debut new paint scheme in Ohio
Norwalk, prerace: Tony Pedregon, the 2003 NHRA Funny Car world champion and 33-time NHRA national event winner is heading to Norwalk, Ohio, for the inaugural Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, the 11th event on the on the $50 million NHRA Drag Racing series national tour. With the hot summer season upon us, Pedregon will bring a new look and an extra level of protection from the heat with him to “We are introducing the new, Q Horsepower Funny Car; a brand new paint scheme to coincide with the introduction of the new Q Horsepower Full Synthetic Motor oil,” said Pedregon, owner and driver of the Q Horsepower NHRA Funny Car. “Q Horsepower reduces friction throughout the rpm range to maximize horsepower. We place extraordinary demands on our engines, so having the heat-activated technology that Q Horsepower offers will certainly help provide a competitive advantage at the track. The hotter this oil gets the more it protects- a perfect scenario for our 8,000 horsepower funny car engines.” Pedregon, fresh off a final round appearance at last week’s ProCare Rx NHRA SuperNationals, moves up to the No. 4 position in the Countdown to the Championship points battle with just seven races until the end of the regular season. The Countdown to 4, the first round of the new playoff format, begins with the U.S. Nationals in This is the first appearance the POWERade Drag Racing Series will make in “The Bader family really pays attention to the details,” Pedregon said. “There is no question it will be a successful race and I’m sure that it will turn into one of the better venues. I’ve raced in the Night of Fire event nine of the last ten years. It is a great venue with a fast track. We’ve run a 4.76 there in the past.”
