Schumacher to start 14th

Norwalk, Saturday: U.S. Army driver Tony "The Sarge" Schumacher will come out of the 14th starting position for tomorrow's inaugural event. Schumacher's starting spot in Sunday's race is his worst of the season. He had qualified in the top half of the field for 10 straight events.

"Perhaps, we got all of our struggles out of the way the last couple of days and we can now go out and put it all together for the race," said the four-time NHRA POWERade world champion. "For some reason, we're still not getting from point A to point B with any consistency. We need to start doing that real soon."

The Chicago native will confront third-place qualifier, Brandon Bernstein, in the first round of final eliminations.

"That's a good team over there," added Schumacher. "We're going to have to be spot on to beat those guys. We know it's going to be a challenge, but this U.S. Army team has proven it loves a good challenge."
