Herbert’s weekend ends early
Facing Whit Bazemore in round one, Herbert had a quick reaction time (.055 of a second) and was off to the early lead. Tire shake soon had Herbert pedaling the car. He was able to keep the car in the groove and recover from the tire shake, but his 4.87 second pass fell just short of Bazemore’s 4.57 second pass. “We had him off the starting line, but the tires started to shake,” said Herbert. “I back pedaled, caught it, and kept it in the groove, but saw what a good run Bazemore had going. They got us. “We still had a strong weekend in qualifying, and we are happy about that. We will spend the next few days regrouping and getting everything ready for racing close to home in
