Morgan Lucas GEICO/Lucas Oil dragster

Sonoma, Sunday: Morgan Lucas was delighted and relieved at the same time grabbing the No. 16 starting position for the running of the Fram-Autolite Nationals on Saturday, but on Sunday it was a whole another story with the 23-year old losing traction early on his first round run and lost to Doug Herbert.  Lucas crossed the finish line coasting with a time of 7.207 seconds, 112.80 mph to Herbert’s winning time of 4.725 seconds, 308.00 mph.

The Brownsburg, Indiana-resident posted an elapsed time of 4.695 seconds at a speed of 313.00 mph in qualifying and will continue to hold on to the No. 15 position in the NHRA POWERade points standings with 370 points.
