Jason Line Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro

Reading, Saturday:  For the 90th consecutive time in his Pro Stock career, Jason Line qualified his KB Racing LLC, Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO for a NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event.

Line took the bump spot, No. 16, at this weekend’s 23rd annual NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals.

It wasn’t that Line ran poorly throughout qualifying, it was that his Pro Stock competitors did better, especially in the Saturday morning session when the air, temperature and barometric pressure were at its best.

Line did run his best time in that session, when he recorded an elapsed time of 6.647 seconds at a speed of 208.78 mph.

“We missed the set up in today’s runs, both of them,” said Line. “Now we’ve put ourselves in a spot where we have to run Greg in the first round. That’s not good. We’ll get it straightened out, but that won’t help the team tomorrow other than we know we’ll have a car in the second round.”
