McClenathan not happy with quarterfinal finish
“I got left on,” he said matter-of-factly, “and we lost. The guys on the crew gave us a good race car and I let them down.”
McClenathan wasn’t pleased with his first-round reaction time, either. “I just wasn’t good Sunday and I don’t know why.
He did get past Melanie Troxel in a tire-smoking opening-round race, winning with a 5.147-second, 256.94-mph performance to Troxel’s 5.819 at 224.25. Whit Bazemore left the starting line first in the quarterfinals and lit the win light with a 4.592 at 327.74 to the FRAM dragster’s 4.571 at 328.06.
