Dave Connolly Industrial Distribution Group Chevrolet Cobalt

Richmond, Saturday: Victor Cagnazzi Racing wants Dave Connolly and Jeg Coughlin in the final quartet seeking the 2007 NHRA POWERade championship.  To that end, the crews put the combination Dave Connolly has in the Torco Racing Fuels Chevy Cobalt in Coughlin's JEGS.com Chevy Cobalt. 

And it worked to perfection in Saturday's qualifying rounds for Sunday's Torco Racing Fuels Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park.  Connolly and Coughlin ran identical 6.645-second elapsed times in the first session with Coughlin getting the No. 1 berth on speed -- 207.27 mph to 206.67 mph -- and bumping Connolly to second place.

"We tried to duplicate the cars," said Connolly, who will be going to five straight victories Sunday and maintaining his POWERade Series lead.  He ran 6.662 at 206.99 in the final session to Coughlin's 6.655.

Connolly opens eliminations against Ron Krisher (15th, 6.697 at 205.76 mph).
