Line qualified eighth
Pomona, Saturday: Jason Line, driver of the KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac recorded a qualifying time of 6.670 seconds to grab the No. 8 position on the final qualifying ladder for the 43rd annual NHRA Auto Club Finals. Reigning Pro Stock champion Line is now in a position to end the season on a high-note and help Greg Anderson in his quest for the 2007 championship by acting as a blocker for his teammate. “Well I’m hoping that Greg doesn’t need any help, but I’m also hopeful that I can help him if I get the opportunity,” said Line. “It’s good to qualify in the top half (of the field). The car’s hasn’t made great runs but it’s still running pretty fast. I think we’re in good shape for tomorrow. I just have to drive well, that’s all.” Line, from Mooresville, N.C, will begin his quest for his 14th career win when eliminations get underway tomorrow. He will face V.
