Pomona, Saturday:  After four qualifying sessions spread over three days of racing action, Doug Herbert and the Snap-on Tools team qualified for the hard fought field at the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals.

The 16-car field for the last race of the 2007 NHRA POWERade season is separated by a scant .081 of a second.

Herbert’s quickest pass of the weekend came in the first session on Saturday afternoon, with the Snap-onFranchise.com dragster clocking the quarter-mile at 4.57 seconds at 314.83 mph, good for the No. 14 position.

“Hey, I’m happy with where we qualified,” said Herbert. “The last time we qualified No.14 we won the race! We plan on doing everything we can to make sure history repeats itself.”

Herbert will face David Baca in the opening round of eliminations.
