Fuller aims to improve
Houston, Friday: Rod Fuller and the David Powers-owned Mustang Cat Top Fuel team will look to improve after racing to the 17th quickest time of the day Friday evening at Houston Raceway Park. Fuller, who earned his first career Top Fuel round win at the Baytown track in 2005, used a conservative tune-up from crew chief Rob Flynn to power the Mustang Cat dragster to a pass of 4.861 seconds at 319.98. That positioned the Caterpillar-backed rail eighth in the order. Fuller’s Mustang Cat/Direct Energy dragster dropped a cylinder at the hit of the throttle on Friday's second attempt and the six-time NHRA winner was forced to lift early and coasted to a time of 5.228 at 192.17.
