Junior Pippin PiranaZ Buell

Chicago, pre-race:  Junior Pippin, the 55-year-old rookie rider of the PiranaZ Racing/Pippin Racing S&S-proven-performance-powered V-Twin Pro Stock Motorcycle, will try to continue his qualifying streak at this weekend's Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 NHRA Nationals here at Route 66 Raceway.

The Conyers, Ga., native moved up to 13th place in NHRA POWERade championship standings, with 124 points, after the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals on May 4, the most recent event on the 2008 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle schedule.

"I'm looking forward to competing," said Pippin. "We tested the motorcycle at the AHDRA Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson Southern Nationals in Commerce, Ga. and the motorcycle is ready. We're ready." The V-Twin is running a new S&S cycle engine from G2 Motorsports and Pippin is looking

forward to another run down the drag strip. For the rookie rider, another chance to race is just another good thing in his life. "Every day is a good day," said Pippin. "Every chance I get to drag race is another blessing.

"Had it not been for drag racing, I would've never seen the country. I'd be at home, driving a dump truck" Pippin, who began drag racing 40 years ago, spends his time driving a dump truck for Pippin

Trucking, races as a hobby and is always grateful for the opportunity. "I'm looking forward to this weekend. I just want to see how well I do stacked against the best in the world and I can't wait," Pippin added. This weekend will be his sixth event in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle series (his

inaugural run was at last season's finale), and his fifth event in the 2008 season.
