Matt Guidera Mohegan Sun Buell

Chicago, pre-race: Matt Guidera, rider of the Mohegan Sun/Rocklin Motorsports Buell, is looking forward to some redemption during this weekend's Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 NHRA Nationals.

“We struggled here last year and didn’t qualify, so we’re really eager to get back here and change that part of our history. It was the first race of the new merger between Mohegan Sun and Rocklin Motorsports this time last year. So at that time we did the best we could do to put a new team together. Fast forward to 2008, and we’re definitely past the infancy and rebuilding stage that we were in during the Route 66 Nationals last year”.

“My goals are to continue to build from our current successes and maintain the winning attitude that the whole team has possessed this season. My outlook is to head into the NHRA Route 66 Nationals this weekend and pick up our second win of the season for the Mohegan Sun/Rocklin Motorsports team.”

"The whole team has been working so hard the past month. I can only think that some good things are going to happen at the NHRA Route 66 Nationals in Joliet, IL," said Mohegan Sun/Rocklin Motorsports team manager Brian Bozsum.

“We’re continually working on the promotion of the team and the sport. My job is to spread the word about the great sponsorship opportunities that exists in the NHRA market. Of course the economic times that we’re in currently can be very challenging, but the value is still strong for the NHRA market and we continue to knock down doors and prove it to new companies.

“We’re happy to announce the addition of a new sponsor for the Mohegan Sun/Rocklin Motorsports team, Diamond Automotive Group from Worcester, Massachusetts. We’re also getting closer with some new sponsorship partners and we hope to make some announcements on them by Indy, said Bozsum”.

After Chicago, the team is heading to the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, Conn., for a week of promotions and then onto Englishtown.
