Team puts event in the rear view mirror, concentrating on Reading
Brainerd, Saturday: The Monster Energy Funny Car team was unable to capitalize on the performance gains they have been making for the past several races. At the Lucas Oil Nationals, the team was bumped from the quick 16 in Saturday’s final round of qualifying. “We just got behind the 8-ball this weekend and had a few mechanical struggles,” said driver Tommy Johnson, Jr. “The Funny Car category is pretty unforgiving.
