Clay Millican Parts Plus dragster

Charlotte, Sunday: Clay Millican left the starting line ahead of rival Cory McClenathan in the opening round of Sunday's Carolina Nationals at zMax Dragway, but McClenathan was able to take the lead before the 1000-foot finish line.

Millican's .036-second reaction provided the Nitro Fish/Hope4Sudan/Lend America Top Fuel dragster with a six-hundredths of a second lead and although he ran 4.032 at 308.28, he couldn't keep up with McClenathan's 3.877 at 314.24 mph.

"Cory Mac just had a good lap against us. That's all we can say," said Millican. "It was a good drag race."
