Worsham finds consistency, place in field

Las Vegas, Saturday: Del Worsham got back into the consistency game on Saturday, posting back-to-back 4.97's under the bright sun at "The Strip." Along with his teammate, Phil Burkart, Worsham entered the day with nothing approaching a guarantee to qualify, and both CSK teams knew they had to step up or step aside. Worsham's two runs landed him in the No. 14 spot.

"When you don't do well on the Friday night run, and have to battle the track and the heat and the sun on Saturday, all you can do is hope you make the field and hope your laps are quick to compared to the other guys," Worsham said. "The two 4.97's were nice to run in the heat, and give us a chance to do some damage tomorrow. If you can negotiate this track in the heat, you have a chance."

Worsham will face Tim Wilkerson in round one.

"Timmy and I have had some amazing battles over the years," Worsham continued. "It seems like every time we race him, it's a matter of inches at the finish line. All we can do is our best, so we'll see how that shakes out tomorrow. I'm expecting a very good race."
