Gilbertson moves into seventh place
In the second round, Gilbertson had a the advantage off the line by five thousandths of a second and held the lead until halftrack as his E.T. was less than sixth thousandths of a second short. Margin of victory: .0059 seconds (approximately three feet). By virtue of his first round victory Bob moved into the No. 7 spot in the NHRA POWERade Top 10 points standings. "We had a good weekend," Gilbertson said. "There were a lot of my lucky charms around as most of my family and friends were in town for my surprise 50th birthday party. My wife Sally put the party together and it got me and my crew pumped up as we wanted to do well in front of all of them. Moving up into the seventh spot in the points makes it all the better." "We're pleased with the way the race went," crew chief Nick Boninfante said. "We went to the line on Sunday with a car that was capable of winning, we just backed off our tune-up a little bit as we were concerned how good the track would be in the sun and we just got out run.
