Densham heads to Atlanta
Densham lost in the first round Sunday at the O'Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals but it wasn't for a lack of effort by the team. "We're extremely excited about the Racebricks car," Densham said. "What we learned in Densham drove his Racebricks Chevy Monte Carlo to a 5.141-second pass at 231.36 mph, falling to Gary Scelzi's 4.791 at 325.37. "We got the wrong guy at the wrong time," Densham said. "We would have won almost any other race today. Most of the big guys were smoking their tires at the hit and that 'ol rascal Scelzi lays a 4.79 on us. Everyone's telling me that it was a good race but I was watching him drive away. It didn't look that good to me. Anything less than a win just never feels good. "We won't lose ground to the lead guys in the points because they all lost early, but we passed up a good chance to gain ground." Still, Densham is pleased with the way the car is coming around. With a new team, several new crew members and less than full spending power when it comes to parts and equipment, Densham and the rest of the team has a learning curve that has so far kept them out of winner's circle. But Densham is keeping positive when it comes to giving report cards on the team.
