"The Sarge" retains No. 1 spot
Chicago, Saturday: After a final day of qualifying here Saturday, U.S. Army Top Fuel driver Tony "The Sarge" Schumacher held on to the number one starting spot for tomorrow's CARQUEST Auto Parts Nationals at Route 66 Raceway. Schumacher's 4.508-second pass at 329.58 mph on Friday night held up through two additional qualifying sessions which enabled the Chicago-area resident to pocket his fourth pole of the season.
